Control family preferences

Settings control both your own account and family-level behavior.

Billing lives on its own page and determines tier-gated access such as analytics or advanced features.

Shopping currency and family preferences should be set once and reviewed when circumstances change.

Section 01

Profile and personal preferences

  • Update your display name so other family members recognize you instantly.
  • Choose which page opens first after login so Familiar starts where you want it.
  • Keep your profile accurate so activity, history, and ownership stay clear.

Section 02

Family-level controls

Settings and Billing now live separately. Use Settings for profile, notifications, security, and family preferences. Use Billing for plan changes, renewal state, and invoices.

  • Shopping currency and planning context.
  • Membership and invite access.
  • Plan-dependent family capabilities.

Section 03

Billing, plans, and upgrades

Familiar supports tiered access. Bachs checkout starts on the server and signed webhooks confirm access. A recurring Bachs product renews automatically; one-time or legacy access is labelled manual instead of being presented as recurring. Scheduled cancellation keeps paid features available through the current period.

  • Open the Billing page before troubleshooting missing premium features.
  • The visible plan names are Free, Basic, Plus, and Grand.
  • Upgrade immediately or schedule a lower paid tier for the next compatible billing cycle.
  • Use Refresh billing after checkout while Familiar waits for the signed Bachs webhook.
  • Manual paid access can start a new 30-day checkout; active recurring subscriptions renew without creating a duplicate checkout.
  • Legacy provider renewal must be ended at the original provider before replacement Bachs billing starts, otherwise duplicate charges are possible.
  • Yearly cards show the discounted monthly equivalent and the full amount billed yearly.
  • Review payment attempts, renewals, and provider invoices in Billing history.
  • Only the right account owner should make billing changes.

Section 04

Logout, device cleanup, and account deletion

  • Log out on shared devices when you are done.
  • Remove outdated installs or stale sessions when testing a new device.
  • Use account deletion carefully, especially if your membership or history still matters to the household.

Before deleting an account

Make sure another admin still has access to the family workspace if your household depends on it. Account cleanup is easier when admin coverage remains intact.
