Cookie Policy

Effective date: March 2025

This Cookie Policy explains how Zine Digital (“Zine”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar storage technologies on Familiar.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small data files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as localStorage and sessionStoragebuilt into your browser. This policy refers to all such technologies collectively as “cookies”.

2. How We Use Cookies

Familiar is a web application, not a marketing or advertising platform. We use only the cookies strictly necessary for the service to function correctly.

Analytics & Advertising

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) that place cookies on your device.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some third-party services embedded in or integrated with Familiar may set their own cookies:

  • Google OAuth — if you sign in with Google, Google may set cookies on accounts.google.com in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Bachs — our payment provider may use cookies during the payment flow in accordance with Bachs' Privacy Policy.
  • Connected assistants and platforms — services you choose to connect may process scoped Familiar data under their own cookie and privacy policies. They do not run in your browser merely because you create an integration credential.

4. Managing Cookies

You can clear localStorage and cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that clearingfamiliar_sessionwill sign you out. Because we only use strictly necessary storage, there is no opt-out mechanism for individual items without affecting the service's core functionality.

Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies via their settings. For guidance, visit your browser's help documentation.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if we introduce new storage mechanisms. Changes will be reflected with a new effective date.
